- What is your name? Karen Griffin
- Where do you live? I have been living in Gilbert, but am in the middle of moving to Chandler (Jan. 15th)
- How many years have you been in the card swap? (2009? 2010? 2011?) sometime in 2009
- How long have you been making cards? I started making cards just a few years ago. My sister, Marilee Garbison, got me started. We scrapbook together and she showed me what she was doing with her leftover scraps of paper, stickers, ribbon, etc. and suggested that it would be right up my alley. Well, after a few tries, I was hooked. Now I make cards for fun, for gifts, and I have even made thank you cards for new brides.
- Where do you get your ideas? (online, magazines, friends, classes, stores, etc.) I get a lot of my ideas from scrapbooking, but once upon a time, I was actually an Art major in college, and I've also done a lot of arts and crafts over the years, including painting, sewing and cake decorating. This is why my style is so "cutesie."
- What do you like/look forward to about the card swap? I like the card swap because it gives me the opportunity to be creative and to share it with others. I also like to see the terrific cards that come back to me--ideas that I might never come up with on my own. The envelope of cards is the one piece of mail I look forward to the most.
- Anything else you'd like to share? Because I am a little "older", I tend to be very traditional, but I'm learning a lot about new techniques and materials from you ladies in the card swap. I consider it an honor to be included with you very talented ladies.
- Do you have a blog? What’s the address? I do not have a blog, or facebook and I don't even know how to twitter. I barely pay attention to my email (my kids remind me to go online).
